Jombies is a collection of 5,555 zombie creature NFTs on Base — but with a twist that most NFT projects don't have. Every single Jombie is both a tradeable NFT and a playable character in a free browser shooter game.
When you mint a Jombie, you're not just buying art. You're adding your specific zombie to the horde in the Jombies Shooter. Players can shoot your Jombie to earn points. Rarer species are worth more.
Your token is the sprite. The 40×40 pixel art stored on-chain is rendered directly as the enemy in the shooter game. Not a representation — the actual data.
Zero IPFS. Zero external servers. Every pixel is stored as contract bytecode on Base using SSTORE2. The art cannot be taken down, altered by us, or lost.
Burn your Jombies to earn Action Points. Use AP to permanently edit your NFT's pixels on-chain. Change your character's appearance — it updates in the game too.
All art is XOR-encrypted on-chain before sellout. The reveal hash is applied simultaneously to all 5,555 at once after mint-out. No sniping. No previews.
Jombies come in 10 species, each with 3 unique variants. Species determines rarity and in-game kill bonus:
Each Jombie is a 40×40 pixel monochrome image — 200 bytes of bitmap data. That data is stored directly on Base blockchain using a technique called SSTORE2, which writes data as contract bytecode. Reading a Jombie's art calls that mini-contract and reconstructs the SVG image in one on-chain transaction.
There are no links to break. No IPFS pinning to maintain. The art will still be readable as long as Base exists.
After reveal, Jombies become interactive. The Burn to Evolve mechanic lets you:
Level is derived from total AP accumulated: Level = (Total AP ÷ 10) + 1. This appears as an on-chain trait.
Jombies Shooter is a free top-down pixel art browser game — no wallet, no install, no account. Open it and play. You control a lone survivor and face waves of Jombies. Kill enough per wave to advance. The longer you survive, the harder it gets.
Every enemy you kill is a real Jombie NFT sprite pulled from the on-chain data. Rare species give bonus points. Playing is free — owning the NFT puts your character in the horde permanently.
